used the next day, or week, or month. And, since
CommPatch
is impervious to
water (that’s why you can place it in a pothole full of water and it still
forms a permanent repair), it will not
contaminate the soil or groundwater.
Also, since it doesn’t stick to tools, patch crew personnel don’t need to
dip their rakes and shovels into buckets of Diesel for cleaning (a common
practice when patching with hot mix that results in the Diesel getting splashed
on the ground). Because patching crews can leave their maintenance yard and
proceed directly to the first pavement repair site, the usual trip to the hot
mix plant site is eliminated, along with the fuel consumption and tire wear,
etc. that the trip entails.
